Read Full Bio >In a recent feature published by the Daily Express and other publications, Springbok Properties’ CEO, Shepherd Ncube, shared his thoughts on why minor property issues are holding UK homeowners back from faster, more confident sales.
He calls it “the 90% job”; when a house is mostly ready to sell, but the final polish is missing.
“We’re not talking about full renovations,” Shepherd said; “But flaking paint, scuffed skirting boards, wobbly curtain rails, cracked paving slabs… these are the details that make buyers pause.”
Why does the final 10% matter?
- It creates buyer doubt
- It disrupts the first impression
- It gives agents a reason to delay viewings or recommend price drops
The solution isn’t expensive. It’s awareness.
“We often neglect our homes in winter due to the cold temperatures and shorter days, but it’s vital to take on essential maintenance tasks, especially things like boiler servicing after a summer of little to no use,” added Shepherd.
